Taught by Hyde Park School of Dance instructors and Jeremiah O’Connor, HPNC Tumbling Coach, campers will learn ballet, creative movement, and acrobatics in this fun half day camp.

Dance:

In Creative Movement, dancers grow their understanding of rhythm and motion through the use of playful imagery, conjuring up small herds of dancing elephants, gracefully flitting butterflies, and more. Through imitation of the characters inspiring to kids, our students begin to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between music and the movement it inspires

Ballet guides dancers slowly and purposefully through the techniques that build a physical vocabulary for the choreography they aspire to create and perform. Hyde Park School of Dance’s technique emphasizes correct placement and careful movement to minimize the risk of injury, and a powerful command of the basics from which elaborate works are built.

Dance classes will be taught by Hyde Park School of Dance instructors.

Acro:

Acrobatic, also known as Tumbling is an enrichment activity that introduces students to gymnastics and acrobatic training. Beginning with types of locomotion and moving into inversion and tumbling skills, this class will build coordination, strength, and flexibility in students while promoting concentration, determination and self-confidence.

Acro classes will be taught by Jeremiah O’Connor, coach for school year tumbling program at HPNC.
