HPNC’s Early Childhood program encompasses two components, Weekday Play-N-Learn, a program designed to meet the developmental needs of children from birth to four years old, and the Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network.

Weekday Play-N-Learn offers a combination of informal playgroups, structured learning activities such as art and sign language, and HPNC’s longest running program, Tot Lot, which provides indoor play time with a multitude of equipment.  Here, toddlers run off steam and develop gross motor coordination while encountering opportunities for socialization, taking turns and learning to share.

Our Baby Ph.D. Childcare Network provides parents a highly personalized child care referral service.  Depending on family needs and priorities, we make referrals to daycare centers, daycare homes, and nannies.  The Childcare Network also offers professional mentoring and support to local childcare providers, maintains a child care lending library, and sponsors an annual series of seminars focused on best practices in early childhood education.
