Fencing

Fall Session: September 16 – November 18, 2018

Co-Ed Ages 10+

Sundays, 4:00-6:00pm

$250 for the 10 week session (drop-in rate: $35/class)


About Fencing

• learn the form, rules, and offensive and defensive techniques of fencing

• learn the skills needed to fence through drilling, footwork, and practice with peers

• participation in fencing can improve reflexes and critical thinking as well as increase endurance and strength of the entire body

• students should wear long pants that cover the legs entirely and comfortable flat shoes that are easy to move in

Elle Hill graduated from the University of Chicago and has coached fencing for eight years. She has coached high school and middle school teams at the University of Chicago Laboratory schools and also teaches classes through her business, Hyde Park Fencing. She has also taught fencing courses for the Summer Institute for the Gifted for two summers. Elle has earned 20 fencing medals in her career but has spent more time focusing on teaching than
competing in tournaments. She has also qualified and attended the fencing Summer Nationals tournament. Elle teaches foil and epee fencing and enjoys helping students grow into skilled fencers, while also having fun.
